How to prevent microblading scabs from happening?
I’ll send you home with everything you need to take care of your brows. Please read the aftercare tips below carefully! You must follow these instructions after your Natural Look By Eva Microblading session to avoid scabbing.
Step 1: Always make sure your hands are clean. Wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap before touching the treated area.
Step 2: Always wash the treated area with a sanitized, damp cloth using only distilled or filtered water, every hour for 24 hours (except when sleeping). Apply recommended ointment with a Q-tip after each wash. Before bedtime, apply the ointment and seal it by covering eyebrows with
saran wrap. In the morning, remove saran wrap, wash eyebrows, apply ointment again for the remainder of the 24 hours. Doing this will prevent scabbing.
Step 3: After the first 24 hours you can wash the treated area only twice a day and apply a very thin layer of ointment after each wash. The eyebrow needs time to breathe. Keep doing this for the next 13 days following the procedure.
Understanding the Healing Process To Prevent Microblading Scabs
Day 1 to 2: It is important to note that the first day of your freshly microbladed eyebrows are approximately 50% darker than they will be once they are fully healed. It’s normal to have some light to moderate swelling and/or redness during the first 2 days after the procedure is done.
The eyebrows will also start to exfoliate which will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow to flake away. Therefore, please refrain from picking the eyebrows at this stage.
Day 3 to 7: You’ll start to experience itchiness around the treated area. Please resist the urge to scratch them. You’ll start to develop texture on your eyebrows during this stage. You should start to notice flaking on the fourth day following the procedure. Flaking usually starts at the outer edges of the brow and then into the centre. Please allow your brows to heal naturally. You will also notice that your brows will start to look lighter after the first week.
Day 8 to 30: You should see the true colour of your brows by the 10th day. As your skin begins to heal, it will begin to solidify the tint of your brows. Please make sure to keep protecting your brows with the tips mentioned in this post. Afterwards, once the 30 days is over you can schedule an appointment to touch up the eyebrows 6 weeks after the procedure.
Microblading Healing Don’ts
- Avoid direct shower water on the treated area for the first 14 days. Failure to do so will ruin the results of the procedure.
- Avoid makeup, lotions, face creams and eyebrow pencils for the first 14 days. If you experience any scabbing, crusting or flaking after 14 days please DO NOT pick at it. Please let it exfoliate naturally.
- Avoid pet grooming, gardening, dusting, or anything that causes dust, dirt and dander for a minimum of 72 hours.
- Avoid tanning for the first 30 days after the procedure done.
- Avoid getting chemical peels.
- Avoid using glycolic acid, Retinol/Retinol or any bleaching products.
- Avoid smoking. Smoking will affect your results and may cause the pigment to fade prematurely.
In conclusion, gorgeous microblading results can be best achieved by following the steps outlined above. Proper care and attention will prevent microblading scabbing. Book an appointment today.
